JACKSON’S INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT, PORT MORESBY

The existing building was large but badly dilapidated and did not function to the level demanded by international standards.

The scope of work included 3,800sqm of extensions  to the existing 7,800sqm building, renovations of all internal spaces including the  complete stripping and refinishing of all surfaces,as well as modifying the layout and building services to meet current building codes and standards.

Facing the challenges of working in a country where choices for materials and construction methodology are severely limited AG Architects produced a practical and functional design solution with a strong local contextual aesthetic that will be a showcase to international visitors for years to come.
